Very relaxing weekend
It's been a while since I had a good bank holiday weekend because of my work involving football but, with the exception of Friday morning, I've had the whole weekend off. It's been very relaxing spending time with Jen and to top it all off, the weather's been very good too.
Sunday we took another walk across the Rivelin Valley, it's just over the road from our house but we decided to walk a little further than usual. We normally just do the mile and a half to the Admiral Rodney but without the hard cash for a pint decided to trek a mile further to see what was there. The answer was more wonderful countryside and another relaxing walk with more gorgeous sunshine. We were a bit knackered after that so spent most of the rest of the day indoors catching up on a bit of TV and sorting out more wedding stuff. I think we're nearly there.

We decided to take advantage of the unusually good Bank Holiday weather and took a walk around the Ladybower Reservoir, just at the foot of the Snake Pass. It was so relaxing it was untrue, plenty of people around taking their dogs for a walk, off for a major ramble or cycling. The one thing that never ceases to amaze me when you take a walk in the countryside is that everybody you meet on the way says hello to you. Must be because everybody who's there is there for the same reason you are, to enjoy the scenery. Just one scary moment, when we heard a sound that could only be described as Prehystoric, just moments after seeing a giant bird land somewhere in the trees to the left of us. It ended up being a really scary Heron!
We spent the rest of Saturday in the garden, listening to Leeds climb out of the relegation zone with a hard fought win over Plymouth (unbeaten in 5 games, back to back wins for the first time this season, the second game running we've come from behind to win...I'm expecting to wake up any time soon). When it got too cold we embarked on a Sky Movies marathon including "Zathura" (follow up to "Jumanji" - crap), "Half Light" (supernatural thriller starring Demi Moore - average) and "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" (best of the lot so far).

Today we're just heading over to the future in-laws to have roast beef and Yorkshire pud, hopefully rounding off a fine weekend with another Leeds win!
